Newnan, Georgia - Business Development Director, Hasco W Craver IV, with support from the Mayor and City Council , recently amended the Economic Development Incentive Policy originally adopted in September 2012, to include the targeted recruitment of particular industry clusters. More specifically, the adopted policy amendment prescribes a tiered incentive program for new development projects aimed at the following industries:
Life Sciences, Information Technology, Corporate Headquarters
Manufacturing, Data Centers, Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, Energy & Environment
Logistics & Transportation, Food Processing, Contact Centers, Arts, Tourism, Entertainment
The goals of the policy are to: attract and retain a variety of employment opportunities; encourage and support a high level of diverse, quality business, with an emphasis on nurturing businesses that contribute to the City’s sales and property tax base so that needed infrastructure, physical amenities, services and expansion of such services are provided; and sustain the long-term economic well-being of the City and its citizens through redevelopment, revitalization and new development recruitment efforts.
